How to Buy Tickets
- go to www.doterra.com and read through the event summary
- Starting on March 20th at 9 am Mountain you can click on Register
- Follow the prompts to register
- You will be able to reserve Gala and Campus Tours at the same time as long as they are not sold out.
- Every ticket requires it’s own individual email address to register
- If the tickets sell out, you’ll have the opportunity to get on a waitlist. As people cancel their tickets, you’ll be able to claim tickets.
- Attendees must be 14 years or older (nursing children are always welcome)
- Transfer Tickets: The deadline to transfer tickets is August 1 – however it doesn’t hurt to talk to your Silver+ upline for updated information.
Hotel Rooms
You’ll be able to claim a room from the doTERRA Room Block. Go to the convention website and search under Travel.
The Room Block sells out very quickly. Don’t be discouraged though if you can’t get a room with the room block, there are 17,000 hotel rooms located throughout downtown Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas.
My husband and I actually choose to rent a car and stay about 20-30 minutes away to save a few bucks. It’s all personal preference. Talk with your up and downlines and potential roommates about where they want to stay.
Also consider renting a house for you and your team! Have you tried Airbnb yet? It’s pretty great. We’ve used it a few times and loves it. Great prices and we get a house instead of a hotel. It’s seriously worth checking out!

Dress Code at Convention
You’ll see a wide variety of outfits! So dress in anyway that makes yōu comfortable. Salt Lake can be a wee bit chilly in September if you are from a primarily warm climate. Check the week before to see what kind of weather to expect.
You’ll probably hear from people to “dress like the rank you want to be.” That can mean something different for everyone. I personally wear jeans with a blouse and a sports coat. My husband wears Jeans or khakis with a button up. We are generally some of the more dressed up at the event.
Here’s what doTERRA wrote about the dress code at convention.
Dress Code at Gala
Gala is a Black Tie event in honor of all of doTERRA’s new qualifying diamonds! It’s a fun and fancy evening! You’ll see many fun looks that range from cocktail dresses to full length gowns. I like to save a few bucks and use Rent the Runway for my dress. You pick out the dress you want, they ship it to your hotel (with a back up size), you wear it to Gala, and then ship it back. It’s super easy and you get to wear a stunning gown every year to the party. This link gets you $30 off your first rental (which covers half of a lot of the rentals actually!!).

What to Expect
Expect to get fired up. I absolutely love attending corporate events. You’ll really get to see and feel the heart of the company. Our founders are amazing individuals and I know you’ll be impressed with every one of them.
Please throw any questions you have in the comments and I’ll add the answers to this post! This post will evolve as we get closer to Convention! I hope to see you all there!
If you want more tips and tricks, check out my post with Tips for Attending doTERRA Convention.
Recognition
Did you know that if you make a leadership rank during the qualification period you get to Walk across the stage during recognition?? It’s pretty awesome!! DoTERRA is great at recognizing your hard work and the company’s newest leaders. And there’s more perks than just the walk across the stage…
- Registration: Those that are Silver and above (Feb 1-July 31st is the Qualification period) get VIP registration. This means that you have a much smaller line to wait in.
- Early Entry: Anyone recognized as being Silver+ gets to have early access to the venues.
- Qualifying Diamonds+ have reserved seating!
- GALA: NEW Diamonds that qualify are recognized onstage during the Gala. It’s an amazing black tie event.
- Store: Silver+ don’t have to wait in the long line at the Swag store! You get access to the VIP line.
Incentive enough to make Silver+ by July 31st?

My Daily Essential Oil Routine
I’m giving this information as a helpful guide. Information is subject to change. Always check with doTERRA or your upline for possible changes.
Cathy Vital says
I can only go on Friday and Saturday. Is that possible?
Kaitlyn says
Yes! It’s still the same price though no matter how many days you attend.
Amanda says
Do you have to buy tickets for your kids if you bring them? Mine will be 1 and 2
Kaitlyn says
I’m not 100% sure. It’s not a kid-friendly event. From what I understand, nursing children are welcome and there are mom-baby, and family rooms available (in case you bring dad along). I brought my 11 week old a few years ago. I’d call doTERRA customer service and choose to speak to events.
Tamar says
You do not have to purchase a ticket for your children. There is a mothers’ and families’ room available at both locations. I brought my daughter to the 2015 convention and stayed in the mothers’ room the bulk of the time. It was really nice and I never had to worry about figuring out seating. If you are bringing two littles I suggest getting a ticket for a friend/relative to go with you to “help out”. You will want to contact dōTERRA via the email they give on the convention purchasing website about bringing your littles. When you pick up your registration backpack and badge you’ll receive an extra one to allow you access to the mothers’ or families’ room. Oh, the difference is mothers’ room is for nursing mothers. Families’ room dads will be in there with children as well. I was really impressed with dōTERRA’s forethought and attention to mothers who want to be able to attend convention. The staff even had diffusers going to help calm the infants/toddlers. There were couches and tables with chairs for note taking. I was able to get better videos in the mothers’ lounge?. If I recall correctly children under 14 years are not allowed at the Gala, though. My daughter did get to tour corporate headquarters with me. If I had brought the stroller it would have been a plus for me, but I was not sure about whether I could or not.
Tamar says
A side note for others, tickets for older children are required. Nursing age children do not require an extra ticket. dōTERRA would appreciate the heads up to be able to accommodate those who may wish to utilize the mothers’ and/or families’ rooms.
Kaitlyn says
Hi! DoTERRA has released more information and I’ve updated the post. Convention is only for children 14 and older and those children require a ticket. Although, all nursing children are allowed.
Laura Martin says
Do we know what time convention ends Sat?
Kaitlyn says
No official times have been released yet. But I can guess based on last year’s schedule. The Vivint usually get out about 4 or 5 and the Salt Palace gets out a few hours after that. Last year we missed the last hour of convention to make our flight.
Kaitlyn says
Hello! I’ve updated the post with times! DoTERRA’s website did not include Saturday’s times (I’m assuming a glitch). But Saturday’s schedule is *usually* the same as Thursday and Friday. Times are different depending on which arena you choose to attend.
Carla Cubstead says
What can you tell me about hotel accomidations? What date will the hotels have rooms avaliable for purchase? Is it important to stay as close to the convention sites as possible? Can you give me a ballpark figure as to how much rooms have cost in the past?
Kaitlyn says
Hey Carla!
We don’t yet have information about the hotel accommodations. I’ll update the hotel information about the blocked rooms as soon as doTERRA releases that information. I don’t want to guess the price when we’ll hopefully find out solid prices soon.
The answer to whether you should stay close will be different depending on who you ask. I have friends that love to stay right in the heart of the city and they just taxi or Uber to the hotel and then walk to all the Convention activities. Downtown SLC is beautiful. Others like to save a few bucks (especially if they aren’t splitting the room cost with roommates) and stay a little further from city center and just rent a car. My husband and I like staying in a hotel about 20+ minutes away in Sandy. We don’t share the hotel fee so to us it’s worth it to save a few bucks. Then we just rent a car and plan accordingly to make it to the Convention Events on time.
Kaitlyn says
Hey Carla!
I’ve updated the post with links. There’s now come information out about the hotel rooms.
Carla Cubstead says
Thanks
Can you explain to me the following:
Gala
Campus Tour
Street Party
Kaitlyn says
Hi Carla!
I hope you were able to get tickets today!
Gala: This is a black tie event on Wednesday night. Everyone dresses up for a fancy essential oil-infused dinner and we celebrate all of doTERRA’s new qualifying Diamonds! Plus you get a special essential oil blend – last year they gave out roller bottles of the ONE blend.
Campus Tour: Great opportunity to tour the doTERRA Headquarters!
Street Party: On Thursday night, doTERRA throws a party for all convention attendees. Last year we had a private concert just outside the arenas!
Carla Cubstead says
Thanks for your prompt response and for being as helpful as you possibly could.
I can’t wait for September.
Thanks again
Jackie says
I don’t remember 3 days at the Vivant Center but it was a blurr. We missed the stuff on the firsts day like the Campus tour so I don’t want to miss that. My husband is coming with me but not attending the convention is there places to sightsee? I remember seeing a Marriott close..where are the preferred hotels…nice and short walk?
Thanks
Kaitlyn says
Hello Jackie!
There’s a lot to do in Salt Lake City. I’d check out the Salt Lake City visitor site for ideas: https://www.visitsaltlake.com/
About the hotels, above in this post you’ll see a link to information about the doTERRA blocked hotel rooms. You’ll also find a link to a map to Salt Lake City.
Carla Cubstead says
Thanks for answering all my many questions. The girl I am traveling with didn’t want to do the Gala or the Campus Tour ( I really wanted to go). But we did get out tickets. We registered for the street party. We got our room at the double tree and we got our airline tickets.
I can’t wait
Mary Kerner says
Do you know of anyone needing a room? I can’t go now, and I’ve already for my spot in a beautiful home with other fabulous Doterra ladies.
Kaitlyn says
I do not. But there’s a facebook group that you can look for a roommate in! Check it out: https://www.facebook.com/groups/534866846663492/
Mary says
Thanks! I requested to join the group.
