Military life isn’t an easy life. I love it. But that doesn’t make it easy. I’ve gathered a list of books that are uplifting and written for the military spouse or our lifestyle in mind. (Also a list for military kid books)
Uplifting Books for the Military Spouse
The 5 Love Languages: Military Edition
By. Gary Chapman
If you’ve read the original 5 Love Languages book, you’ll like this one. It has the same concepts but with ideas and encouragement for filling your spouse’s love tank even when your spouse is 7,000 miles away. Read stories from other military spouses and be inspired.
Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives
This is for the ladies out there that need a good military wife specific devotional. Get daily encouragement in your faith from a military wife that gets it. If you like the first one, she wrote a second called Faith Deployed…Again.
Faith, Hope, Love, & Deployment: 40 Devotions for Military Couples
By: Heather Gray
Here’s a great option for those that would like to continue to grow closer to your spouse even through deployment. Heather began the book during her husband’s last deployment to Afghanistan. Unfortunately, he was Killed In Action during that deployment. But Heather saw through on their vision and finished this book.
You Are Not Alone: Encouragement for the Heart of a Military Spouse
By: Jen McDonald
It’s a 30 day devotional written by a well-seasoned military spouse of over 30 years! This devotional is great for any point in your military journey: PCSing, deployments, TDYs, and more. Read relevant scripture and get tips in this book.
Heroes at Home: Help and Hope for America’s Military Families
By: Ellie Kay
This book was highly recommended to me by a great friend of mine, Caitlin Gavina from the soTexan Blog. She said that it’s “literally the best book there is” and she gets it for any friends that marry into the Air Force life. This book was written by Ellie Kay, an Air Force Pilot wife and a mother of five children.
